By state law, all fines on court-required offenses are due upon sentencing. This means that, as soon as the judge hands down a sentence in your case, you will be expected to pay any fine in full before you leave the courthouse.
If you cannot, you will have to speak with the Fines Manager. You may need to speak with someone in this office even if you didn't go to court. The Fines Manager will ask you to disclose some financial information in order to verify that your request for time to pay is justified.
Remember: you must follow all the directions as given to you by the Fines Manager, or you will be in violation of your sentence.
If you don't follow these directions, you may be re-sentenced by the judge who originally sentenced you, or your debt may be referred to a collection agency. It might even be subtracted from your tax refund.
You have signed a binding contract if in the event the individual forfeits the bond for non-appearance then the full face value of the bond is your financial responsibility and is due on demand. You are financially responsible for all costs relating to this bond.
The Bail Bond Agency has the authority to obtain an arrest warrant and the individual will be once again taken into custody and surrendered for violation and default of the contraction agreement of bond.
